I’m getting a tingle of connection
Can I share with you a path to freedom?
I have done the easter hunt
and I no longer want to play.
I played a similar game for some years already
So I leave the eggs now gleaming
for others to find some day
Though I love that you prepare others for the fray.
You’re doing important work
which I hope will be kindly rewarded
in a true-loving way.
I prefer to now feed beauty to my mind
as the cloudy-with-meatball skies
sometimes threaten the climb
and if you “like” to skip along with me,
let’s not hide.
Pretend you are not slaves to Then
Act like you are a free agent Now
If I leave some breadcrumbs
will I share with you a trail to freedom?
Or will it lead to witch hunts
and terrifying ovens?
Still there is always a chance
to escape the candy crush.
If it suffocates you
more than saves you
leave aside your mask.
Go the distance
take that one step
outside the glass.
There is a code for
the brave new world
it’s “stay safe”
and “stay home”
meanwhile Bro Peep
might be killing
the tax-burden boomers
with a custom virus
and blaming the opposition
by grinding their long-built economy to a halt
the one supported by a 20th century fox
too-long buying china dolls.
But can we turn the tide of the great machine?
Yes we can, the remedy is true love
Know what I mean?
It sounds too simple
a pill to swallow
but it’s a better pill
than the bitter one
that tries to make us hollow.
Follow the swallow’s flight above the trees
See how they fly in the air so free
Allow your soul to live in this moment
Since this moment is the only one
guaranteed.
Stop drinking the poison
Stop tapping the sweets
Focus on the flowers
and the bluetiful people
that you meet.
Oh and pretty please
remember to smile and wave
when you’re walking
and singing like a
lark
down Love street.
Follow the fool on the hill
and the eggman β
tap your feet
to their
bluetific
beat.

Partly inspired by/in answer to/ the recent numero-linguistic splicing genius of Charlie Zero, and his comment-invitation this morning asking me to participate — however, I’ll be on lunch duty in this Zone and at that time. ;)) (Attempting an Auvergnat Good Year, but without the wine. ππ΅ ;)) If you like to try a post-easter egg hunt, do head on over there, and join in — but don’t let the red pills do your head in. ;)) There are large pockets of love and life, outside the 2D gloom. While remaining/becoming aware, let’s try to find and focus on those, even on our screens, if/while cooped in our rooms. xoxoxo Sending love and light, and heavy draping blossoms of wisteria, moonwort, rosemary, lilac… all in purple-fire, full spring, zone-of-emptiness bloom.
You covered it all with your poetry which I enjoyed very much. I noticed people are very happy and friendly now when we pass each other on a long walk. Many smiles and waves. It is quite beautiful. Thank you and sending you love and flowers β€οΈ

Thanks so much Summerhill… I went out on Friday and noticed the same. The sun was also shining, maybe that improved outlook on life’s game.
But yes! Such kindness, and such good-vibes-only! I loved that little outing, when I went out to get some groceries. β€οΈ
p.s. your art is still amazing!! π»ππ

Pingback: Weekend Surprise! Liebster Award – Fake Flamenco
Beautifully well said and expressed. 3 Easter eggs I discovered within your amazing poem.
1. Judi Barrett – which spawned a great movie ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs’. π
2. A Good Year directed by: Ridley Scott. I’ve seen pieces of the movie but I hear from others that its good. π
3. Bro peep – rap artist tim woods lil bro peep. If I got that one right.
I’m very proud of you and what you have done with this incredible poem.
I haven’t seen people out much here in L.A. still in quarantine and staying safe. π

Ah Charlie Iβm so glad you liked it. Truly means a lot to me. And youβve found some eggs here so easterifically. 1. Yes! She makes complicated world topics easier for kids to understand. 2. Just a very favourite movie that once helped inspire me and my main man. Though our version is very different, we live the simple life as much as we can. 3. This actually started as Bo Peep – a bit of a (possible/false-)shepherd(ess)(/prophet) reference, living near fields as I do, but I switched it to Bro Peep, because my meaning was linked to β1984,β and βbrave new world,β too. (And I perhaps mistakenly thought Bo Peep was not clear enough. I might change it back, since the meaning of the nursery rhyme I also find to be true, same as I do the one about the Billy Goats Gruff. ;))
I send much love and heartfelt gratitude to you. And indeed, stay safe, I truly hope that you do. Your work is inventive, important and inspiring, combing old ideas with new. ππππππ±π·

What a fantastic last line in particular. Very rhythmic throughout and some lovely imagery (particularly the meatball clouds!).

Thanks for the kind words, Matthew. :)) That meatball clouds thing was inspired by the kids’ movie, “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs.” :)) xoxo
